Eight Nine LGBT Advocates Amongst Students and Staff

HAR19.12We now have 63 students who are LGBT advocates, and 23 staff members too, including Ms Wright and Ms Naylor (pictured). Staff wear rainbow lanyards and students wear rainbow badges so that everyone knows who they are.

Our LGBT advocates are there to listen to and support students on any LGBT issue. They challenge any homophobic/biphobic/transphobic language heard in and around the academy, for example, and are there if anyone wants to talk about concerns such as bullying either in school or out of school.

Ms Kelly is a Stonewall Champion so staff and students should report back to her any issues regarding LGBT.
