Locker & Riley Inspire Year 9 Art Students
On Thursday we welcomed visitors from internationally renowned fibrous plaster specialists, Locker and Riley, who make and install decorative plasterwork in everything from historic buildings to palaces and private residences.
Our Year 9 Art students were involved in the event where they learned about the industry, watched videos about how the plaster is constructed and installed as well having the opportunity to ask questions about the work Locker and Riley do.
Locker and Riley also demonstrated how the plaster was made and showed examples of their work to the students.
It was great to see every student engaged in the event and ask some really meaningful and insightful questions. The event really captured the imagination of the students involved.
Razvan said: "I really enjoyed the event and would really like to do an apprenticeship within this industry. I never thought about this as a career but I found today interesting and would like to stay in touch with them."
We'd like to thank Steve, Alan and Kiera from Locker and Riley for giving up their time to speak to our students and look forward to a continued partnership with them.
