Student Council Mentors Younger Students
As part of our student leadership responsibilities, our student council mentors Year 7 and 8 students. It is our aim that every child here at Harris Academy Rainham feels like they belong here. We want every single student to have someone they trust and can speak to about any issue; large or small.

All students at this academy should feel safe and part of a family, hence why we decided to buddy up with a variety of students in Key Stage 3. We have been partnered with students and meet weekly with them. We discuss their likes and interests and support them with issues ranging from making friends, school and homework work and confidence.
Not only does this benefit the student and provide them with an extra friend and role model but it also supports us in our communication skills and mentoring skills such as empathy and being a good listener. It's great to be able to give something back to an academy which has given me so many opportunities and supported me in all areas of my school life.
