Students recently attended a seminar on the internal conflict which arises between obedience to authority and our conscience.

This was the launch event for the Rainham Experience, a programme designed to expose our students to opportunities and experiences they usually wouldn't usually have inside the classroom.

Kieron, Year 11, said: "In the psychology seminar presented by Miss Holland, the topic of obedience vs conscience was brought up in association with the Milgram Experiment. The talk has sparked an interest in psychology for me and without doubt everyone else who attended. After making a point, Miss would allow us to discuss our ideas in response to what was said. This allowed us to formulate and put forward ideas to Miss who would contemplate and respond to our points. As a whole, I believe the seminar experience has brought light to topics I wouldn't have thought to explore myself."

Harris Academy Rainham will continue to offer experiences to our students, including a debate club, trips to inspirational sixth forms and universities, and mentoring to ensure our students reach their desired potential.
