Rainham Foodbank Urgently Needs Our Support - Please Help
Until December 14th, we are encouraging students to promote our ‘Belong, Believe, Become’ ethos by making donations to the Rainham Foodbank.
One person in five in the UK lives below the poverty line. It is therefore vital that we support our local community and provide help to those who need it the most. We are calling this our ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’. Over the run-up to Christmas we’re encouraging students to give items rather than simply receive, to teach the importance of charity and generosity.
Please bring your donations to Reception or B48 (Miss Hill) until December 14th.
Rainham Foodbank (registered charity number 1155807) provides three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food and support to local people and families in crisis who are referred to them. As you can imagine, at this time of year, supplies can become low. We are therefore asking students to help by donating non-perishable food items and toiletries to ensure the foodbank can remain fully stocked over Christmas.
What items are needed?
Here’s a list of the non-perishable food items we’re asking students to donate.
- Breakfast cereals
- UHT milk
- Tinned Fruit
- Dried pasta
- Teabags
- Rice
- Noodles
- Coffee
- Other tinned food including meat, fish and vegetables
Other items welcomed include:
- Toothbrushes
- Soap
- Deodorants
- Other toiletries
- Children’s toys
- Books
Please bring your donations to Reception or B48 (Miss Hill) until December 14th. Thank you.
We hope that, with your support, we are able to make a substantial donation and show the local community that Harris Academy Rainham really cares.
