Former Students Return to Support Current Year 11s
Five former Harris Rainham students (see photo) were invited back to the academy to share their experiences of choosing, applying and studying at top sixth forms, such as Harris Academy Westminster.
The event was part of our Inspiring Sixth Form Programme, designed to help Year 11 students apply successfully to top sixth forms in the area by providing them with experiences and knowledge to which they wouldn't usually be exposed.
Over 40 of our current Year 11s attended this voluntary event and were able to direct questions at the panel of post-16 students to gain a better understanding of the demands of sixth form life and the preparation necessary to gain a place at a top Sixth Form.
The panel was asked questions including: 'Why did you pick a certain sixth form over another?'; 'What made you chose to study at Harris Academy Westminster?'; and 'Do you have any advice which will help us be successful in our GCSE exams?'. Our ex-students were confident and articulate and provided helpful responses to all questions.
"Excited"
"That was really helpful," said Year 11 student Rebecca. "It's definitely made we want to apply for Harris Westminster now. I just feel I know so much more about the interview process and the sixth form itself. I'm just so excited now."
We would like to say a huge thank you to these students for coming back to support other Harris Academy Rainham students.
