Borough Library Mini-Membership
Dear Parent/Carer,
We are pleased to be working in partnership with the borough libraries to encourage reading for pleasure and to extend the reading material available to students outside of the school library.
As part of this, your child will be signed up for library mini-membership and we hope that students will use the service in collaboration with their Scholastic Reading Pro obligations.
Books can be sourced via this link https://arena.yourlondonlibrary.net/web/havering and reservations made free of charge, with collection and returns made at the Rainham Library.
Students will receive a library card and instructions on how to use the service as part of their Library Lessons in school with the Librarian. This card can be used in conjunction with existing borough library membership, although additional benefits include:
- Free reservations from across the LLC (London Libraries Consortium)
- A maximum of three books on loan at any one time, therefore allowing sensible use of the accounts
- No fines or charges for overdue books
- Free access to the library and the use of our services
Basic student information of name and DOB will be provided to Rainham Library, along with a parent e-mail address in order to set up membership.
You are expected to take care of all items borrowed; loss or any damage will be charged for a replacement cost.
We hope you would agree that this partnership will build on a reading culture to be proud of.
If you would prefer that your child not be a borough library member, please download the letter to parents, which also contains additional information, and sign and return the slip at the bottom by Friday 9th November 2018.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs N.Burt
