Year 8 STEM Day: Autonomous Vehicle Challenge
In April, our Year 8 students took part in an exciting STEM day hosted by Smallpeice, in partnership with CEME and SEGRO.
The event focused on the significance of STEM education and the various pathways into STEM-based careers.
Throughout the day, students engaged in hands-on activities, including designing, building, and programming their own autonomous vehicles.
They also had the opportunity to develop a brand and prepare a marketing pitch for their creations. The day wrapped up with a thrilling vehicle race and each group presenting their business ideas.
This fun, informative, and educational experience encouraged students to be curious and resilient learners, while also developing key employability skills. Participating in such events equips students with the tools they need for future success in the workplace.
Thank you to the companies involved for making this event possible.
