Back to School
We were delighted to be able to begin to welcome our students back to the academy yesterday.
Our classrooms and corridors are, once again, filled with the happy voices of our students and it is great to see them back where they belong. Our gym has been converted to a lateral flow testing centre with all students being offered 3 tests in their first two weeks back at school. It’s a huge logistical excercise but has been enormously helped by the fact that our parents have been very supportive of the testing, and the students have risen to the challenge doing the tests sensibly and quickly.
Pastoral Lead, Mrs French, who is running the test centre has commented that
the students have been brilliant. Calm and cooperative and taking it all in their stride.
Students are also delighted to be back in school. Year 7 student Grace said
I am just so happy to be able to see my friends again.
Ryan, also in Year 7 said that
doing the test was easy. It didn't hurt at all, just a tickle when I did my nose.
Years 7, 8, 10 and 11 are now back in school. Year 9 arrive back tomorrow and we are really looking forward to having full school days with all our students from Thursday 10th March.
