Professional Boxer Kevin Mitchel Coaches Students
Former professional boxer, Kevin Mitchel, who twice challenged for World Championship belts, has been coaching our students in boxing.
Over 20 boys and girls from years 7-11 took part in the two-hour session. Kevin also spoke about knife culture and encouraged students to "get off the street and games consoles and into sports", including boxing.
Kevin spoke about his own personal life, schooling and love of sport. He then ran some fitness circuits, shadow boxing, pad work and some team building activities too.
Kevin's session really reinforced our school values of Believe, Belong, Become. He also told students all the places they can box in the local community.
