Artwork for Auction - Culture, Heritage and Belief
We thought you might like to see this lovely artwork our Year 9 Harris Experience students have made for a public auction at Christie's later this term. The theme was 'Our World' and this is their very powerful statement about it.
Here at Harris Academy Rainham, we pride ourselves on our individuality, independence and intelligence. Because of this, we have decided to create a piece of artwork that not only boasts these three qualities but exhibits the people behind this.
In order to do this, we decided to separate the map of Rainham (where our school is situated) and allow each individual on our team to be responsible for a section. As you can see, each section contrasts violently from the last.
Culture, heritage and belief have been poured out onto these pages and we are very proud of our work. Hence, we showcased diversity in Rainham. This is important because we feel everyone’s identity at HAR is valued and cherished. This is active in our school’s ethos of Belong, Believe, Become.
Ultimately, we wanted to portray ourselves as seven individuals that work together in harmony, connected and united by a single town.
Our world is Harris Academy Rainham.
