Endurance Athlete Mimi Anderson Inspires Students
Record-breaking endurance athlete Mimi Anderson visited our academy today - inspiring years 10 and 11 with her amazing achievements and story.
Mimi is an ultramarathon runner and world record holder. She told the students how she had to overcome an eating disorder and went on to complete ultramarathons across the world including the ‘Marathon des Sables’ (a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon in the Sahara Desert) and racing across the arctic circle.
“If you don’t try, you’ll never know what you’re capable of,” she told our students.
Mimi currently hold Guinness World Records for the fastest confirmed journey on foot from Lands End to John O’Groats by a woman (12 days, 15 hours, 46 mins, 35 secs) and the fasting crossing of Ireland on foot by a woman (3 days, 15 hours, 36 mins, 23 secs).
Thank you, Mimi, for visiting our academy and being such an inspirational speaker.
