HAR Wins Years 7 and 8 Cricket Competition
On Tuesday 6th July, Harris Academy Rainham took part in a triangular cricket competition for Years 7 and 8 with Harris Academy Chafford Hundred (HACH) and Harris Academy Ockendon (HAO).
Not put off by the weather, the three teams were eager to get going. In the first match, HAR played HAO. HAR batted first and scored a magnificent 91 off just 10 overs, with Taranveer retiring on 20 not out. In reply, HAO got off to a slow start but managed to hit themselves back into the game. But, with some tight bowling and excellent fielding, they ended up with a score of 79. HAR won by 12 runs.
In the second match, HAR played HACH. HACH batted first and were restricted to 57 runs. HAR's bowlers and fielders put in an impressive display to ensure that they were in a good position to win the match.
It was then HAR's chance to bat. Taranveer again impressed with the bat as he retired on 24, He was ably supported by Aadittya (20) Dylan (16), Rahan (16) and Chay (10) as HAR amassed a huge score of 104 in their 10 overs. HAR winning the match by 47 runs and were crowned winners.
