Computer Science Talk from Dr Michael Kolling, Kings College
We were delighted to host Dr Michael Kolling to the Academy on Wednesday for a talk to Year 9,10 and 11 Computer Science students.
Dr Kolling is Vice Dean of Kings College London and his talk to students covered a variety of topics including object oriented programming languages, use of simulation in computers for problem solving and programming as a set of learnt skills.
He gave a demonstration of Greenfoot, an educational development environment, which he designed and wrote. He also discussed careers in computing with the students and advised on making successful university applications for Computer Science.
